The fund is run by a committee of four Nishtarians in the United States. The function of the committee is to raise and disperse funds.
Sub committee composed of the principal / his designee, a retired faculty from Nishtar and a Nishtarian in private practice advertises for the scholarship, receives and evaluates the applications, interviews the students, and makes the initial selection.
The list of the scholarship awardees is forwarded to the scholarship committee in the United States for final approval. If the scholarship committee concurs with the selection, they will ask NANA leadership to release the funds to the students’ accounts directly, without funds changing hands.
Number of Yearly Scholarships: 50
Amount of Scholarship: Yearly tuition & lodging expense paid once a year in the beginning of the academic year
History We are proud of the generous Nishtarians whose contributions led to the increase of number of scholarships from 10 to 50 over the years.
The scholarship was renamed in memory of Rehmat Khan who was an engineering student and died at the age of 22. In his loving memory Dr's Ghulam Qadir and Huda Zenati made a commitment to pay for 22 scholarships each year.
